Is It a Viable Alternative to Blockade?
Just surrounding and blockading tian into submission is a viable alternative. It's maybe easier, at least initially, to organize militarily because you don't have to get those troops across the strait and land them. The problem is, it's not a decisive military action. You're basecly just hoping to starve tiwan into submission. Tiwan has obviously made some preparations for that. They have shelters and stock piles of food and fuel ready to go. And in the interim, if you're china, you have to worry that, first of all, you may just come under attack. Or japan or tiwan may come out and just try to sink the blockade force
