We often prefer the ease of hanging on to old views over grappling with new ones. Too many people hold on to things, as you said, this is the consensus. And i think that embarrassment at past work is actually a sign that we've gotten better. Those times when we look back and say, ok, i was wrong, or that was stupid, those are moments that really signal to us that we've learned something.
