Women in Government - Voting for Women Is a Viable Strategy

Research suggests that women candidates are disadvantaged by perceptions of their electability. We find that you can successfully intervene on this increase people's perceptions of women's electability and increase willingness to vote for women. Even when people themselves are ready for someone from a historically disadvantaged group to play a leadership role, they may not act on that readiness because they think others won't support some one from that disadvantaged group.
