The western Judeo-Christian spiritual environment is fundamentally faith based. Buddhism is the introduction of wisdom based teachings. Wisdom brings some understanding to the heart and faith opens us to experience beyond our current level of understanding so that we don't get confined in that arrogance. This is the first aspect of what I see happening as the Buddhist teachings are coming from east to west, from Asia to America. The second thing that has been happening over these last thirty years is something that is really unique in the long history evolution of the Buddhist teachings. It's perhaps not happened in fifteen hundred years.
