Precision vs Recall - Which Is Better?
The most common things i do as a product manager at amazon is analyze the trade offspitut between precision and recall. For our models, there are situations where you want to prioritize one over the other. If it can be solved by simple rule, than classical programming is a better solution. It's virtually impossible to have a machine that can predict a certain result with 100 % accuracy. In a lot of cases, ou notgoing to be able to tell why a machine made a specific decision. You are just going to know that decision. And finally, if your data set meets these requirements, then it's time to consider using machine learning.
