Our idea of urbanisation, what we take for granted now is a 19th century phenomenon. The railways obviously developed in England really, really rapidly and communities were just torn apart as young people sought opportunities in towns. People came up with the idea of the tank 17 years before they actually built any tank. They speculated that you could have moving castles on land. It was still fantasy. There's very little planning ahead.
