What's the Trade-Off?

The idea of people belonging to a nation, and that that nation's will is embodied by the state. The palestinian arabs had no experience with it at all. They're coming from countries where the idea of state legitimacy is very familiar. And so asking a tribe to submit to a state essentially means asking em to to give up their autonomy in exchange for making their lives more predictable,. It's kind of like asking an entrepinur to give that up to take a job in a cubicle ind a more predictable, stable salary.
