The Goal of Story Engagement Is Connection

As you engage someone's story, there has to be a growing sense of awe at the severity of what the boy or girl in the story suffered and endured. Awe at what happened will naturally lead to grief and rage, both of which are necessary for healing to occur. The goal of story engagement is connection. You connect with the story teller as you grieve together, as you rejoice together, and as you talk about raining together.
