The situation doesn't feel great right now, and it seems like we're back where we were a year ago. Can you give me any little bit of hope? What can we in 20 22? So i think there are a number of reasons to be pretty optimistic. We have anti virals, which are going to really start making an impact in 20 22. And then the other thing to be really positive about is that the vaccines are going to change next year.

Yesterday, daily cases in the UK exceeded 100,000 for the first time since the pandemic began. Despite this, the government has stuck to its guns in refusing to introduce any restrictions in England before Christmas Day. Yesterday also saw the publishing of a report from a team at Imperial College London that suggests, in the UK, the risk of a hospital stay is 40% lower with Omicron than Delta.
