Portuguese and the Iberian Peninsula

There's a lot of cognates between Spanish and English. I think the Spaniards think Portuguese is like, sounds drunk. It's got a little nose in there too. But I am Portuguese, my grandpa was Portuguese from the Azor Island. Everybody speaks well of Portugal. They have a little bit of a side history that's alongside and sometimes participate in broader European history.
