Is Data King of Machine Learning?

A lot of the innovations have been around data. Like, you know, in machine learning, you'd think people had learned this idea by now that data is king but it seems that people still don't get it. I actually struggle with this quite a bit because whenever people join the team at Tesla, the neural network team, their instinct is always to start going crazy on the architecture. And I have to unlearn that for them. But yeah. It's so incredibly important.
