The Joy of Growing Your Own Potatoes

There's something incredibly exciting about growing a potato. You can start half a dozen spuds off in half a sack of peat-free compost. Nothing for me will ever beat a roast potato and I can cook them myself just in case you ask. They're very accommodating. And there's loads of varieties that will crop well in containers or bags. What is decent soil? It's not solid clay, it's not pure sand. Be kind to it.
