There was a real drive on the part of so called respectable conservatives to draw a line between those people and themselves. Now it's the exact opposite, right? You've got Republican leaders in the House who are trying to say, I'll pardon the January 6th insurrectionist. They want to make sure that the voters out there who believe in these crazy things think that they're at least sympathetic, if not one of them.
