He argues that we've given technology too much power over our lives, and it should be reined in. The FDA was created after people got sick of being poisoned by tainted meat because there was no real oversight for food safety. It would have been a tough sell if firms were forced to do human trials or go through other hoop-jumping steps on new products; but he says this is what governments are supposed to do.
