Teaching Critical Thinking Is Not Enough
I like the idea of making as much information and knowledge available as possible. We just need to be critical thinkers, and we all have to do our own research is the solution. And so part of challenge here is a problem of experts. My my students will say things like, oour teachers i middle school an high school, told us never, never to use wikipedia. But people don't have very clear thoughts about what it means being expert. So we really are struggling with who has the expertise to say certain things? And those are big, difficult problems in a completely propagandized media environment.
