When i was around ten years old, i had my first few experiences with music that were truly frightening. It was in that year that maryland manson released his cover of the arhythmic sweet dreams. Once i got over the initial shock, this music became very alluring. The characters on those albums, which a few years earlier had struck me as aggressive and malevolent, now seemed very, very cool. These guys did whatever the hell they wanted to do, and they dared you to tell them to stop. It was hard not to love it.
