The History of Assyria

The city-state of Usher, run by merchants and governed by civic bodies morphed into the territorial state of Assyria. A lot of what was previously known about Assyria really came from the Bible or Greek texts. What's really cool is that in the last 170 years roughly, we have so many different tablets now from this time period. We're learning more and more about Assyria every year.
