The book tells the evolution of your own thinking. And you also do a wonderful job as a science writer explaining these studies that have advanced our understanding, he says. I want to turn out to some of these really transformative studies that we've kind of alluded to a bit in the conversation so far. In one study going back 20 years, researchers found that while all groups had babies that were within the healthy weight range, black Americans' babies had the lowest weights.
