Hippacia's murder made it easier for a pagan school to arise in the 6th century, writes Andrew Keen. The last pagan head of the Alexandrian school was Olympia Doris who sought peaceful coexistence with Christians. By this time Christianity itself had become invincible and there was no need to shut down the school by imperial edict as had been done in Athens.
