Alexander Vanderbelt wanted to build a tunnel from the hudson river into manhattan. The project would require tunnels of six thousand, 600 feet worth of tunnels. It also required that trains be redesigned for better efficiency through all these new tunnels. In 19 o'clock one he pulled out, the whole thing just kind of stopped.
