The Importance of Postmodern Literature
The airborne toxic event is more about just the toxic pollutants of industrial or post-industrial American society. The pharmaceutical companies at this time the big eco crisis was the depletion of the ozone layer so I think that's what he's really focusing on with the airborne toxic event. You can read back into it climate change and in the middle 80s I'm not sure how many people knew about it like scientists knew about it but Exxon Mobil certainly knew about it.
