"I was going to talk about my own childhood. We'll cal it failure, but it's not a failure that's stigmatizing," she says. "i have such a distinct, visceral memory of what i'm about to tell you." She recalls being six years old and waking up with her bed wet from pea-sized urine leak. 'It wasn't overwhelming enough to know,' writes the author who now works as a camp counsellor. "'You left your kis with me in washington, d c' And i was a child, it's like amazing that you got childi have to get over that eventually and send my kids to to overnight camp'"
