God Is a God Who Gives Good Gifts

In the ancient world, that wouldn't have been scandalous at all. Jesus describes God to people almost entirely in terms of to God's people. He doesn't come with a sword in his hands. Even when Jesus has talked about an apocalyptic literature with a sword, it's coming out of his mouth. If we want to deal with what category do we put destruction in, we have to first understand the character of God.
