The Importance of Competitive Rates of Return for Slavery
There's competitive rates of return in the agricultural sector with or without slavery, things like that. But it's not clear that that stuff doesn't just spill over extra into everybody else's pockets is what I'm getting at. So even if you're a plantation owner embedded in this economic system where slavery exists, it's actually not purely a boon to you and other owners are bidding on it.
