Introduction
Think Again delves into the territory of cognitive errors, biases, prejudices, as well as mental blind spots. It explores our failure to change our ideas when we have established them. No matter the knowledge and experience a person possesses, they canât avoid logical errors in their thinking process. Those include unfounded opinions, external influences, assumptions, and other subjective perceptions. Our natural tendency to rely on these cognitive tools leads us to poor decision-making, inflexibility, inability to hear others and be heard, as well as close-minded attitudes.
Based on numerous examples and Grantâs psychological knowledge, he proposes a new approach to improving oneâs thinking. It relies on doubting what we know, and developing an interest to learn new things and see otherâs perspectives. Grant calls this approach rethinking. Adopting this mindset allows you and your team to improve. It also provides you with the opportunity to change other peopleâs minds without pushing people into binary groups.
