Why Students Need to Outsmart Their Brains
In American schools, students are not taught how to regulate their own learning. They're very much using cues to judge whether or not they are being successful as they learn. Even though students aren't generally taught how to study, there's a lot of uniformity in the methods that they use. And they all use the same methods or they sort of gravitate towards some of it, is social contagion.
