The Impact of Streaming on the Environment

Laura Linn: I think about how much of an impact streaming has on our daily lives now, right? Like, whereas, you know, 10 years ago, it wasn't even really part of the general lexicon. And so, today, streaming can really be expanded to include everything from on-demand movies, shows, YouTube videos, social media, video games. It actually even includes video calls like Zoom and Peloton. So, basically now it's calculated that ICT's carbon footprint as a whole is somewhere between 3% and 4% of the global carbon footprint annually and it's rising fast.
