Why do we cheat on our partners?
The Why Factor
Prairievall, a Species of the Prairie Vols
Prairie vols form pear bonds. They are what we call socially monogamous. And that's a really unusual thing. Something like seven % of mammals are monogamous, and we can include humans broadly in that category. If you give a male a choice between two females, one of whom is his mate, he would much rather spend time with his mate. That's not the case in unbonded animals and promiscuous species.
