Early on in my parenting journey, I snapped at my daughter and yelled so loudly that I scared her. I needed her to listen to me and respect me, but I was actually trying to fulfill an unmet need I had experienced when I was a child. I wanted to be a parent so badly, and I wanted to do it better than my parents. I was trying to be Super Mom, and when my daughter didn't recognize my efforts, I got pissed.
If you find yourself easily getting angry and snapping at your children, today's episode could help you examine your inner self and understand what triggers that behavior.
