It truly felt that we had conjured up the spirit of Emilia, a voice that had been suppressed for over 400 years. It was one of the most magical and profound moments of our lives. When it transferred to the West End, other more profound moments came, but they were like silent screams. There was an unspoken strength shared among us, like connected roots of independent trees feeding and nurturing those in need. The cast held me together, humming a song often sung within the group to garner strength and solidarity in times of need. They huddled around me like a comforting rugby squamp and ushered me into the blow of the second act. I don't remember getting through that show,
