The Importance of Conviction in the Gospel
Thessal and I can understood this. They receive the good news with deep conviction and the power of the Holy Spirit. And this enables them in verse six to become imitators. But again, we need to ask ourselves, is this the type of gospel that people receive in the modern American church? Or did they receive messaging that lacks power? You see, so often the gospel goes forth, but it acts like a label that you can put on your bumper sticker.
