The Origin of the Black Death
The Black Death crept its way out of a region the Gobi Desert called the Mongolian Plateau. It could have come from modern Kyrgyzstan, where accounts of the plague going back to 1340 placed the origin point in a Central Asian market town called Tollis. By the time the plague and the environmental upheavals were done with China, tens of millions were dead within just 15 years.
