Sarah: I think this is the coolest part of our research in that we visualize a lot of things happening at single cell level. We actually had a mathematical model that we made up that predicted the well-tapped behavior. It said that potassium levels need to go below a third and threshold for the spores to germinate. And then we found that, yeah, if you have less potassium inside spores, react to these inputs much sensitively.
