Why Is George Monk Unknown?
Anne Monk, George Monk's wife does not even have an entry in the Dictionary of National Biography. She was absolutely clearly the person who talked her husband into leading a great army marching to London to re-establish the Parliament's rights as it existed. At the time in 1660, Anne at his side, pretty much single-handedly restored the monarchy. And he's been written out, and I think it's partly because, sorry, what I was going to say is at the time people said, they will build statues to you, your name will be remembered.
