Pompey had a booming cafe culture with lots of cheap takeaways and pubs. Orles Ambricius Skouras was famed for making four types of fish sauce. The most popular sauce was Pompey's speciality dish, Garum. Archaeologists have rummaged through a toilet pit under Pompey's neighbouring town Herculaneum. One piece of graffiti in the city boasts, I had a good poo here.
