10 engineers resigned from microsoft and started a new company called fermion with the express goal of figuring out how to build this kind of third wave of cloud computing based on web assembly. Fermion is writing everything in rust except for our front end application which is written in dotnet. The team's first tool was spin, an installer that installed all the pieces you would need to run a web assembly service and then you could take spin and deploy your brand new app.
