The Relationship Between Trust and Authority

I think there's always been a trend of a lack of trust in authority. But it definitely feels in the kind of post-2016 era, I guess, that that's been a more present force. And we often have a tendency to exceptionalise the present because I've definitely seen arguments that have said the same after the same in America after Watergate or something,. which is now many, many years ago.
