There's really only two possible ways language can be organized in the brain. It has a particular characteristic layer in the left hemisphere, or you can do the exact mirror opposite in the right hemisphere. But you don't get other random sets of language areas, you know, it's either like one or the other. So I guess my question is, again, is that kind of the way you would have thought a language organ would function? We're a very strange species in many respects," he says.
