Virtue in the Soviet Union
In the Soviet Union, when they were accusing Christians and priests of holding back progress, there would be a nun or just a regular congregant who was holding himself back in this kind of dark, grim world. And that accusation was used to try to take people away from the only kind of life that would have actually been worth living. But real life good, real life virtue is thrilling and delightful, and real life evil is mundane and grim. You've got to be buying in not just to the rightness of what is good, but to the adventure of the good.
