I don't really disagree with your picture of aid in general but it seemed to me that the specific targeted interventions that effective altruists tend to favor were they you know they don't have the baggage attached. I guess it's just hard for me to see how giving out anti-malarial bed nets is really that damaging even if we could be doing more. Well if you read if you read the global public health literature especially on the left they've always been against those sort of innovations. They say we have to build health systems in countries so as to look after maternal and child health.
