You're Dead to Me

CHAPTER

The Story of Lucretia and the Tyrant Killer

Tacitus is not telling a story that is historical as we would understand it. He is telling a story about the rape of lucretia, which is a classic story in roman history. Lucretia kills herself in order to take away the shame of her rape. And brutus then takes her body and shows it to the roman people so that they can rise up against it. She is undermined by being both a woman and a barbarian. All women in tacitus are power mad. Are cruel when they get power, and are driven by a desire to hurt people around them.
