Deaf finds unexpected ways to creep its way into Paul's fellow soldiers, brothers and arms if you will. I was very surprised by how the way that some of these characters would meet their untimely end is not the way that one would expect. No matter where they are at any point in time battlefield or no battlefield, Deaf can still find them at any point. In America too it was the lost generation, right they lost their soul in this war,. They lost everything that made them human, and so they became these machines.
