The Different Types of Thyroid

Most of the T4 or T3 production, is it made primarily by the thyroid gland? It's made by peripheral cells. Most T3 as you alluded comes from outside of the thyroid gland. There are enzymes that convert T4 to T3, basically everywhere. Some cells have di-nases of their own, meaning they can produce their own thyroid hormone. And these are intracellular regulatory mechanisms, for example, in the brain.
