The AMA and the Great Depression
The AMA was going after all of the popular prepaid doctor groups. Even some physicians who had been presidents of their own local medical societies or who were really famous and well known, they went after them. They didn't care for gotten written up in the media. The only people who got protected was if somehow they could get political protection themselves.
