The History of Shopping in America
Shopping itself in consumerism is pretty short, but commerce has been with us as long as humans have had complex society. The concept of like a centralized marketplace goes back to prehistory and you can find archaeological evidence of them across the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Asia. In antiquity they sort of become the early zoning laws basically sort of constrict commerce to particular places within these sort of like new city centers.
