I'm sure I'll get some blowback from admirers of the Queen, she says. "There's plenty of grounds to admire the Queen and Plenty of grounds to criticize the Queen" The royal family leaned more and more heavily into the language of duty and sacrifice in the middle of the 20th century. If you're sacrificing people for the duty if you're chewing up the lives of the vulnerable women who enter the family as spouses driven by love and relationships, then that looks really bad especially when other people are suffering.
