The History of the Audi Equator
Aldi was founded in 1961 by Karl and Theo, two brothers. They fell out over whether or not they should sell cigarettes in their shops. And I think it was for shoplifting reasons as well because of its dinginess. It's grown ever so slightly but an average supermarket might have something like 200,000 different items,. whereas they might have 2,000 items. In America they have them both, but one of them is called Trader Joe's. The name Aldi comes from a poor mancher named Albrecht Discunt.
