How to Calculate Recommended Intakes for Fiber
The recommended intake of fiber is based on epidemiological data rather than feeding trials. The highest levels were at 2,000 calories, 28 grams of fiber. That's the highest number we have and it shows like 25% decreased risk. Just overall fiber, we get about 14 grams. We want people to get 28. So we need to get fiber into their diets across the board,. you know, not just, and if we can do it with foods, great. But that's why I'm a dietician or even recommending supplements for 40 years.
