Are the Idols in Mesopotamia a Religious Political Thing?

Marduk was a Mesopotamian god who went on parade and met with the local gods to decide the fate of the lands. There are some similarities between this and the arc of the covenant and things along those lines. You know, they actually do travel interestingly enough. We have letters that say this idol is going to be in this place at a certain time. And there's actually a letter, I forget who it's between, but where there's a scheduling conflict.
