Therak 25 - Software Systems and Safety

The Therak 25 is fully software dependent. It's responsible for both the machine operation in terms of setting the, um, the voltage and then also responsible for the safety systems. The previous system had hardware interlocks but it was backed up by software checking. This sort of F, you know, there was a net to make sure that this didn't happen. We'll get on to other issues with the FDA when we have more time.
